Travel Info

The following travel information is based on riders departing from the UK. If you are from the US, AUS, SA etc, and your trip is originating from outside of the UK, please email us and we will give you all the information you need on travel, pricing in your own currency, etc.
Training Weeks / Cyclosportives
All our training weeks are currently based in Maumas, a small hamlet in the Creuse department of The Limousin. There are various ways of getting here, shown below, in order of speed.

Flying
Limoges airport is only 40 minutes drive from Maumas. You can get direct flights from London Stansted, Liverpool, East Midlands with Ryanair, or from Southampton with Flybe. Tickets booked in advance on the web can be as low as £15 + tax if you do it early. When you book it is also worth telling the airline that you intend to bring a bike, and make sure it is securely packed in a decent bike bag.

Train
If you have a bit more time the train is a pretty nice way to get here, (plus you can get some work done on the way). Eurostar have a TGV service from London to Poitiers, which is about 90 minutes drive from us. Here you can arrange for a taxi to pick you up, or you can hire a car from Budget at fairly reasonable prices. Alternatively, having got the Eurostar to Paris, the SNCF has a slower train (about 3 hours) to La Souterraine, (15 minutes away) which is our local town.

Flying
Driving out is also not difficult - we are between 3 and 4 hours south of Paris depending on your speed. If you have a good map, look to the middle of France and find Limoges. Then follow the A20 north until it meets the N145. You will see La Souterraine to the east of this junction. Maumas is situated 12 km southeast, halfway between La Souterraine and Le Grand Bourg. For detailed directions please email us.
