Cycling Equipement

Whatever the time of year, we can always be caught out by occasional bad weather, so we advise you to pack for all conditions. We have various spare items we can lend you, but to be on the safe side, all riders should make sure they have the following minimum kit: |
- 2 x Jerseys, shorts, and socks
- Pair of shoes with cleats in good nick, and a pair of neoprene overshoes
- Long-armed warm layer or fleece
- Helmet, cap, beanie. (Helmets are encouraged but not compulsory)
- Pair summer and winter gloves
- Windproof jacket or rainproof jacket
- Pair of arm-warmers, pair of leg-warmers, or tights
- Puncture repair kit, spare set tubes, spare set tyres
- Bike in good working order, complete with bike bag (vital if travelling by air)

The Cooler is very casual but we will be going to the odd restaurant, so you may want to pack the a shirt to fit in with the locals. It is not necessary to bring any towels, we provide all that stuff.

Our 2006 jerseys are currently in the process of being manufactured. If you want to look the part when we are all cruising through Limousin, please email us your size to pre-order kit for your stay. Jerseys and shorts are available to buy at £35 each.

A mobile phone is very useful in case you take a wrong turn! So is some spare cash if you feel like diving in to a café for a hot chocolate.

Obviously we strongly recommend you bring your own bike, but if this is not possible, we have a couple of bikes we can lend you. Please bear in mind though that they may not be perfectly suited to your size. Also, we have a very good relationship with the boys at BMC, so if you are thinking of buying one of their bikes, please let us know in advance and we can get a demo model in for you to try. www.bmc-racing.com

We have a very well-kitted out gymn here which you may or may not have the energy left to use!
Our best bit of kit is a CycleOps Pro 300 PT indoor trainer which can measure a cyclist’s power incredibly accurately. So if you think you’re ready to ride the Tour and want a reality check, you’re welcome to try it out! |

Outside of cycling we can offer the following activities:
Sauna
Table-Tennis
Snooker
DVD lounge
Fishing
|
Walking
Shooting
Pottery
Painting
French lessons! |
